 Carol Brown will be opening tonight’s shows.
A little about Carol...
Carol Brown has worked for over twenty-five years in the visual fine arts, mainly as a curator. Trained as an art historian with a MA in Art History from Rhodes University, she has organized over 125 exhibitions of contemporary art for museums and galleries regionally, nationally and internationally. She is passionate about art and particularly how artworks change meanings in different spaces and contexts.
Carol was Director of the Durban Art Gallery from 1995-2006 before establishing the consultancy Curate.a.Space in 2007.

Goodman creates atmospheric and immersive installations that cross the boundaries between visual and media arts. Her work unveils everyday routines, obsessions and social interactions. She operates within a local South African context, with a specific focus on the least tended subject of the middle class experience

A paramount force in Marriotts work is the combined act of collecting material such as animal skin or parts (from taxidermists and local farms) and the visceral transformation of that material into often tender or startling new forms.

Limited edition print portfolio and limited edition individual archival prints at an affordable R 700 each.
Art and poetry inspire dignity, respect, pride, and freedom of expression, imagination, recognition of the individual, creativity, excellence and human rights. Dialogue Among Civilizations involves collaboration between artists and poets from Africa and those countries who participated in the 2006 Soccer World Cup.  The participants were invited to create work on the theme of identity, land, object and belief

House & Garden Show

We had an adventurous day out of the office on Friday afternoon....visiting the House & Garden show in Durban. We met lovely new people and saw many familiar faces....

The Home grown fair was definitely our favourite, Terry Angelos did a stunning job organizing this part of the event and she even added a new kiddie's side this year.
