In order to encourage South Africans to recycle and buy products made with recycled material Plastics SA and the packaging industry have initiated an annual Recycling Day SA on 14 September 2012 which falls during Clean-up SA Week from 10 – 15 September. Its aim is to increase awareness by educating the community about the social, environmental and economic benefits of recycling.
